Negotiations between the Clay Community Classroom Teachers Association and the school board may start again soon.
School board president Terry Barr and CCCTA Representative Russ True have both said that mediator Vicki Martin and corporation lawyer Michelle Cooper are trying to set a date and time to come back to the bargaining table.
Martin, the Director of Conciliation Services for the Indiana Education Employee Relations Board, was the mediator for Clay Community Schools' negotiations earlier in the process.
Cooper said via e-mail that bringing Martin on board was a mutual decision between her, True, and UniServ Director Ruth Henderson, who is helping the CCCTA.
Cooper also said that she and Henderson had worked with Martin during negotiations with other school corporations, and Martin had experience that would be beneficial to both sides.
Martin was unable to be reached for comment.
