Mable Eldridge

Mable Eldridge was born on Sept. 16, 1920, to Frank and Zada Eldridge. She passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, at 11:05 a.m., at Holly Hill Healthcare Facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd (Buck) Eldridge and Kenneth Eldridge.

She is survived by sisters Frances (Hubert) Fulford, West Terre Haute, Nada (Clifford) Coffin, Terre Haute, sister-in-law Patricia Eldridge, Terre Haute. Other survivors include nieces, Diana Craney, Teresa Plummer, Glenda Lenges, Monette Harris and nephews, Ronald Boswell, George Fulford, and Mark Eldridge, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special friends, including Sharon Hardman and her family, Betty Monnett and her family, and all the loving angels of Holly Hill Rehabilitation Center.

Mable was employed at Meridian Elementary School in Brazil for 34 years as the supervisor of food services. She will be remembered by many students as the "milk lady" or "roll lady," as she treated many children with both items on a daily basis.

Mable resided in Brazil for most of her life. She shared her love, laughter and wisdom with many. Mable spent her last few years at Holly Hill, where she served on the residence council, assisting in menu planning.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Services will follow visitation at 4 p.m., with Rev. Eric Jude officiating. There will be no graveside services. Her final resting place will be at Hull Cemetery, Terre Haute.
