The Northview Knights begin postseason play in the Terre Haute South Soccer Sectional with a matchup with the North Knox Warriors in the opening 5 p.m. contest.
The evening's second game places West Vigo against South Vermillion at 7 p.m.
The Knights come into the postseason with the school's first winning record and a share of the conference championship as well.
With a 10-5 record this year, the Knights have enjoyed their best year on record and are hoping to add to that with a sectional crown, but face a group of opponents that include several teams who have contributed to their five losses this year.
The team does however begin sectional play against a team that they had great success with in a 5-0 win on Oct. 1. A win would place them into Thursday's second round where they would face the winner between the Wildcats and West Vigo.
Northview owns a convincing 10-2 win over the Wildcats earlier this year and a 5-0 victory against the Vikings.
The Braves were 4-0 winners against the Knights back on Sept. 25 and lost to the Patriots in the season's opener too.
The Knights have plenty of firepower on offense with a high-scoring offense that includes both Ashley and Jenny Woodcox along with Charlie Greichgauer and Carlee Bell.
In goal, the Knights have a multiple all-conference goaltender in senior Christina Arvin as well as a defense that has helped them score seven shutouts.
On defense, the Knights have gotten strong play from senior Abby Birkey as well as Heather Foxx, Tiffany Young, Tylee Graverson and Cayla Yockey.
Also making strong contributions have been Stormi Raines, Ashley Clarke and freshman Lindsay Woodcox.
The opening night had plenty of surprises with Greencastle upending Terre Haute South by a 3-2 score and Sullivan taking down Terre Haute North by a 3-0 score.
