Wanda M. Harmless Came, 91, Greencastle, formerly of Clay County, passed away Oct. 18, 2007, at 7:48 p.m., at Autumn Glen Assisted Living Community.

She was born June 30, 1916, in Clay County, the daughter of T. Ernest Pell and Margaret Wilson Pell. She graduated from Van Buren High School.

In July 1936, she married Thomas G. Harmless. They worked side-by-side on their family farm. Mr. Harmless passed away Dec. 15, 1954. Following his death, she worked at Angwell Curtain Factory, Greencastle, the Windbreaker Plant, Brazil, and then later she was the pie baker at the Blue Bonnet Restaurant, Brazil.

Wanda enjoyed traveling, canning the bounty of the garden, quilting and playing Bingo.

Survivors include her daughter, Ernestine Lunsford and her husband Arnold, Greencastle, three grandsons, Bruce Cooper, Kent Cooper and Tony Cooper, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, special friends Paul and Ann Atkinson and their family and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Thomas Harmless, and her last husband, William Came, April 28, 2007.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m., at French Funeral Home with Dr. Patrick Larracey officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1.
