Back on scene

Monday, October 29, 2007

Around 6:40 a.m. Monday, firefighters returned to the scene of a mobile home at 13818 North County Road 300 West, Brazil, that burned Saturday evening to fight another fire. On the scene for more than two hours, members of Dick Johnson, Van Buren and Posey Township volunteer fire departments worked in close quarters to stop flames from leaping to other homes in close proximity. Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Brison Swearingen said that Parke County REMC was called to shut off power to the other homes. The house was still smoldering several hours later. Ivy Jackson photo.
