Ena A. Girton, 88, Avon, formerly of Brazil, passed away Oct. 27, 2007, at 12:58 a.m., at the Village of Avon.

She was born in 1919, in Clay County, the daughter of Ralph and Anna Pruitt.

On Sept. 27, 1941, she married Ellis Leon Girton, he survives.

Ena attended the Ebenezer Church and served on the Good Samaritan group at the church. She was active in the Democrat party and served as a precinct committeewoman.

She enjoyed life as a homemaker, mother and grandma.

Survivors include her husband Ellis Leon Girton, Avon, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Nancy and Jim Bohler, Danville, Ind., and Sheila and Robin Allin, Barrington, Ill., five grandchildren, Jaime Bohler Smith and husband Scott, Jason Bohler, Derek Allin, Rob Allin and Christopher Allin, one great-grandson Bryce Allin, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Ina Miller, and two brothers, Vestal Pruitt and Virgil Pruitt.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Rev. William Price officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12-2 p.m.
