Monday, November 5, 2007

Times Staff Report

A Monday bargaining session turned out well for Clay Community Schools and its teachers.

Clay Community Classroom Teachers Association Representative Russ True called The Brazil Times Monday evening stating CCCTA and the corporation have reached a tentative agreement.

More information will appear in Tuesday's edition of The Brazil Times and on this website.

Five years without a contract is a long, long time. Thank goodness that part of Clay Community School Corp's state record setting is over! Kudos to Russ True and his bargaining team for hanging in there, especially when it might have seemed like everyone was down on him and the teachers.

I am so happy for the teachers and everyone involved! This couldn't come at a better time and now hopefully the teachers will get a fair settlement! Thank goodness for such community support! I am glad to see Clay County residents supporting the teachers that shape minds for the future. What a true blessing for all!
