The North Clay seventh grade evened their season record at 2-2 on Thursday night with a 51-32 victory over Owen Valley.

The 'A' team played the Patriots to a 7-7 deadlock through the opening quarter before the Knights used a 16-4 surge before the half to take control of the contest.

The Knights' rebounding improved in the second period as Larry Shaeffer and Phillip Lalen combined to pull down seven boards. The pair also scored six points in the quarter as North Clay took a 23-11 lead.

Bryce Britton, Braden Parr and Craig Peters all had hoops in the decisive press by the Knights.

In the second half, Dallas King had six of his 10 points in the third quarter and Lalen hauled in five of his game-high 10 rebounds. Parr knocked down a 3-pointer and the Knights extended their lead to 38-16.

North Clay subbed liberally over the final minutes as Bryce Britton had two late baskets and Parr scored his final basket of a 10-point game.

Drake McKee had a pair of late rebounds for the Knights and Travis Hakman contributed a free throw and a rebound in the final period. Britton finished with six points in the win.

In the 'B' game, the Knights couldn't overcome a 20-point game from Caleb Brewer in a 36-27 loss.

In a pair of wins last week, the 'A' team won a 41-24 victory against Chauncey Rose spurred by 11 points by Shaeffer and seven from Peters. Britton added in six with Hakman tallying four and Lalen dropping home five points.

The 'B' squad won a 19-15 decision over the Royals, led by Holifield's eight points and five from Baysinger. Tracy, Dakota Davis and Justin Sampson all added two points.
