BEE RIDGE CHURCH

Submitted by

Bee Ridge Church

Happy Saturday. We invite you to our Turkey Dinner this evening (Sat. Nov. 10) from 4-7 p.m. We will have all the traditional Thanksgiving foods, plus yummy home-made desserts and drinks. All of this for a Free Will Donation. Carryouts available, too. So bring your appetite and come on out.

Remember, tomorrow is Veteran's Day. A day to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all US veterans. They've given so much for us. Isn't it time we do something for them? Here's just a few ideas. If there is a Veteran's Day Parade performed by the color guard representing all military services, we should show our support by attending. Donations are always appreciated. Do tasks for families of troops overseas. There are many more things we can do to show our appreciation.

On closing, we invite you to visit us at Bee Ridge Congregational Christian Church. We're the small country church at the top of the hill on the east side of the road. We are a God loving congregation with a big heart and the spirit of God.

Blessings.

Best Years Club at First Christian Church

The November meeting of Best Years Club will be Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. This is a monthly gathering of senior adults and retired people who usually meet together on the third Wednesday of each month, September through May, for a time of encouragement, learning and fun to attract others to a grown up lifestyle centered around the hope that only Jesus Christ gives. Please note that this meeting has been moved to the second Wednesday to avoid conflict with Thanksgiving plans. Bring a friend and come to the main auditorium of First Christian Church on U.S. 40 West, Brazil.

The speaker at this program will be Julie Henricks, popular radio and television broadcaster who specializes in weather reporting. Her part of the program will start at 11 a.m. There will be time to ask questions and enjoy fellowship following her speech. The program is free and open to the public.

A delicious home cooked meal will follow the program at noon. Reservations are needed for the lunch. A free will donation will be taken to help pay for the food. Please call the church office at 446-2214 if you want to make reservations for lunch or if you need transportation. The Best Years Club welcomes all senior adults to this fellowship.

You can see and hear both of these items every Sunday at bingo, although I do mute the sound during the games.

On Nov. 11 and 18 we will be conducting a food drive to help the less fortunate, so each person bringing in non-perishable food items will receive a first half and a second half bonanza card free.

We have more special nights coming up at bingo, this week is no-split night. Our first half jar ball is now $875 (the highest it can be because of gaming laws).

Our bingo hall is located at 8990 N. Kennedy Crossing Rd. across from the Northview High School baseball field. Speed bingo starts at 6 p.m., early bird bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. and regular bingo starts at 7 p.m. We are handicapped accessible and we have a lighted parking lot.
