Early Sunday morning, Clay County Sheriff' Deputy Jerry Siddons was dispatched to two churches and a rural residence just outside of town limits that was vandalized.
Siddons said the Carbon United Methodist Church and the Carbon Church of the Nazarene were broken into sometime after midnight Saturday, but when the residence was broken into can only be narrowed down to sometime within the last week.
Other than having some items thrown about the building, someone entered an open door at the Carbon United Methodist Church and took 10-15 videos from a church member video library.
The door of the Carbon Church of the Nazarene was pried open and someone took an AM/FM CD player and a portable DVD player from the facility.
At the undisclosed rural residence, which is undergoing major renovations, someone busted a window and then kicked in a door to gain access to the inside. Siddons said the suspect(s) gained access to the attic to cut and remove the newly installed electrical wiring.
