Rita Jo Pyle, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, lost her long battle with lung cancer at the age of 65, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at her residence in Selma, Ind.

Known for her wonderful smile, she was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Brazil, and moved to Muncie in 1965. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1960. She then attended Ball State Teacher's College, where she met her future husband.

As a homemaker, she was very involved with her children's activities as well as her husband's. From Cub Scouts Den Mother, Brownie Leader, School Nurse, she was always willing to lend a helping hand with friends and family.

In 1985, she opened Jody's Bridal Center, and later worked at her sons Greg's dental office, as well as for Dr. Mark Rosenthal, and Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jimmy Pyle; son Greg Pyle and wife Jodie; daughters Torie Bledsoe and husband Larry, and Jama Pyle; six grandchildren, Brenton Bledsoe, Jake Bledsoe, and Marshall Bledsoe, Megan Pyle, Maddie Pyle and Joel Pyle; sisters Betty Swearingen and Lois Casassa and husband Jimmy, and Sue Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gladys (Nicoson) Riley; sister Wilma Jean Riley; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Howard and Luella Pyle.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Rush officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
