Mildred L. France, 91, Knightsville, passed away Nov. 17, 2007, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
She had been a resident at Cloverleaf Healthcare facility recently.
Born Dec. 25, 1915, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Ivan and Mary (Stevenson) Harris.
She graduated from Van Buren High School.
She was married to Melvin "Mutt" France, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Over the years, she worked as a seamstress for the Windbreaker Plant, she was a cleaning lady for several families in Brazil, and she enjoyed being a homemaker. She and her husband Mutt had a cabin on the river and enjoyed fishing and spending time together.
Survivors include her two sisters, Lorene Russell and Mary O. Miller and her husband Lester, Brazil; niece Carolyn "Sue" Metz and husband John A. Metz, Brazil, and Jane Douglas and husband Owen; great nephews Fred Metz and wife Lisa, and David Metz; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Harris and Jackie Harris; many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mutt France; two brothers, Wes Harris and James Harris; and one nephew, Ronnie Moore.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at French Funeral Home with Pastor Dick McShanog officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and again Wednesday prior to services.
