Irma E. Spencer, 87, Detroit, formerly of Brazil, left us to join the Lord Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Detroit.
Born Dec. 11, 1920, in Brazil, she was the daughter of Manese and Ruth (Watkins) Grissom.
She graduated from Brazil High School.
She was baptized at the Second Baptist Church of Brazil at an early age and she was a faithful member until illness caused her to move to Detroit to live with her sister, Yvonne O'Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert; four sisters, Bessie Morris, Barbara Spence, Elizabeth Hawkins, and Ann Grissom; and brother, James E. Grissom.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Manese Grissom, Pittsburg, Calif., and John Grissom, Melvindale, Mich.; two sisters, Mayme Grissom, Indianapolis, and Yvonne O'Bryant, Detroit; two brothers, Rev. Harvey Grissom and wife Marion, Detroit, and Joseph Grissom and wife Betty, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, at Moore Funeral Home.
