Gilberta Margaret Cooprider Nelson, 89, Clay City, died Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2007, at Cloverleaf Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 13, 1918, in Clay City, she was the daughter of Caswell H. Cooprider and Edith C. (Miller) Cooprider.
She was a 1936 graduate of Clay City High School. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Clay City. She was a housewife and farmer's wife. Her favorite hobby on the farm was feeding her pigs.
Her husband Loyed Eugene Nelson preceded her in death in 1997.
She is survived by sons Richard D. Nelson and wife Robin, Clay City, Ronald L. Nelson and wife Dawn, Clay City, Paul C. Nelson, Paxtan, and Larry E. Nelson and wife Pat, Terre Haute; eight grandchildren, Brittaney and Brooklyn Nelson, Clay City, Brandon Blackburn, Clay City, Salena Nelson, Clay City, Clayton Easton, Dan Ridge, Tenn., Jackie Cecil, Center Point, Johnny Cecil, Coal City, and Jody Cecil, Clay City; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Maplegrove Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Dickey officiating.
