PRINCETON -- Northview's junior varsity wrestling team kicked off their season at the Princeton Tourney recently with strong results.
The Knights had four competitors that went unbeaten, all with multiple pins on the day.
"Four kids going undefeated was a good start for the season and some of them will see some varsity action this year, so it was a nice way for them to test the water," commented coach Dan Mikesell. "I really like my freshmen class and I hope they will stick together and continue to help us build a winning program. They have a lot of talent in the group."
Tommy Holifield went a perfect 3-0 in the tournament with three pins at 189 pounds while Brandon Mikesell was 3-0 at 130 pounds. All three victories were via pin as well.
Broc Potter put together a pair of falls in his two matches at 145 pounds as did Brady Silvers at 171.
Austin Sciotto scored two wins in four matches for the Knights' JV team.
Michael Duregger, Brad Powell, Jason Blackburn, Brandon Pleake and Beau Judd all had a victory.
"All in all this was a good start for some of our younger kids.," said Mikesell. "The incoming freshmen need to realize the difference in match length and work on their conditioning to continue to make the adjustment to high school."
The varsity Knights begin their season at Bloomington South on Nov. 28.
