The Clay County Sheriff's Department is requesting help in locating a missing area man.

CCSD was contacted Monday morning that Russell "Rusty" Vaughn Krider, 41, from the Brazil area, could be missing.

"It was less than 48 hours after he went missing," CCSD Dep. Brison Swearingen said. "We've got no tips or leads yet."

Swearingen said Krider's family called the department Monday after they learned he did not show up for work.

"That's when it got to be a concern," Krider's wife Sheri said. "That's when everybody was extremely alarmed. It's out of his character to not show up for work.

"I've searched everywhere."

"He didn't show up for work Monday. That really made (the family) concerned," Swearingen said.

According to a press release provided by CCSD, Krider was last seen by his family on Nov. 24. He was last seen wearing a brown hat, gray-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Krider is described as being 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds. He has blue eyes and sandy blonde hair.

He is believed to be possibly driving a 1999 green Dodge Durango with a Texas registration plate.

Swearingen said the family just recently moved back to the area.

"We've followed up with some tips that the family had," he said. "We're not ruling anything out at this time."

If anyone has any information regarding Krider's wherabouts, call Searingen at 446-2535, Ext. 5.
