Guyton, Ross lead Cougars past Northview girls

BLOOMINGTON -- The road was unkind to the Northview Knights on Tuesday as Bloomington North pulled away in the second half of a 60-32 victory.

The Cougars got a 17 point, 13 rebound effort from Division I-bound Alex Guyton and Whitney Ross added another 17 points in the victory.

Meanwhile, the Knights were able to hit just 32 percent (12-of-38) shots from the field and the Cougars took 12 more shots than the Knights.

Spring Raines lead the Knights in scoring with 14 points, but took 15 shots to reach that point. Stormi Raines added another nine points and Tara Crooks lead the team with five rebounds.

Turnovers again plagued the Knights, who turned the ball over 31 times compared to 20 for Bloomington North, which improves to 4-1 overall.

The Cougars' junior varsity scored a 35-28 win over the Knights who will kick off their conference schedule on Saturday as part of a boy/girl doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
