Born June 16, 1932, in Center Point, he was the son of the late William C. and the late Louise (Waldbisier) Lowdermilk.
He graduated from Ashboro High School in 1950. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
On May 16, 1953, he was married to Mary Alice Bowman, who survives him.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Claude and Mae Bowman; two sons, Michael Dane and Gregory Allen Lowdermilk, M.D.; two sisters, Hulda Stevenson and Florene Arnold; and two brothers, Gerald and Junior Lowdermilk.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Lowdermilk; daughter-in-law Cathy Lowdermilk, St. Louis; three grandchildren, Alexis, Madelyn and Ellie Lowdermilk; brother-in-law Russell and wife Charlene Bowman, Brazil; sister-in-law Collen and husband Hoby Smith, Washington, Ind.; four sister-in-laws, Donna Bowman and Norma Bowman, both of Brazil, Elenor Lowdermilk, Center Point, and Elzore Lowdermilk, Terre Haute; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at Moore Funeral Home, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
