A multi-vehicle accident involving three semi-tractor-trailers and at least three passenger vehicles occurred around 4:40 p.m., today, on the westbound on-ramp at the 23-mile marker of Interstate-70.
One of the tractor-trailers, which was carrying dog food, broke in half and dog food and debris covers portions of the westbound lane of I-70. Other details of the cause of the accident are sketchy at this time.
Eastbound traffic is not being affected but, the Clay County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police is directing westbound traffic, which is moving at a slowed pace. Drivers currently traveling westbound on I-70 are being given the option to take the exit into Brazil, or wait in line for officials to let them pass.
The on-ramp at the 23-mile marker westbound is currently closed and Trans Care is on the scene treating injuries of unknown severity.
