Ron Paul is the answer for 2008

Sunday, December 9, 2007

To the Editor:

I am a Democrat voting for Ron Paul (R-Texas). Ron Paul seeks to uphold the constitution of the United States of America.

You may ask, as I did when I first began learning about this man, what does he believe? He believes in the constitution. He believes in the rights of all individuals, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual preference, etc. He believes in small government, low taxes (he supports the Fair Tax), the right to bear arms, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and of press and in fact, the whole constitution and all 27 of its amendments.

He believes in a three-tiered branch of government that each has the power and only that power that is granted to it by the constitution. Ron Paul has never voted to raise taxes. He has never participated in the lucrative congressional pension program. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the US treasury every year. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. Ron Paul served in the military as a flight surgeon for five years. He has been a physician for 30-plus years. He has served in Congress for 10 years.

Though Ron Paul is running as a Republican, he falls under the libertarian political ideology and has a loyal following of Independents, Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians.

Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary, William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception of the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.

Please read more about this presidential candidate who stands out from the rest. He has a website, http://www.ronpaul2008.com/, where you can learn more about him. Youtube has many videos in which he speaks on his positions and thoughts on the US.

Many of the videos have been viewed more than half-a-million times, and one stands at 950,000-plus.
