Junior varsity Knights fall just short of Edgewood girls

Northview's JV girls' basketball team dropped a narrow decision on Thursday night to Edgewood, 37-35.

The Knights couldn't overcome a 16-point third quarter by the Mustangs, which gave the visitors a 26-22 lead heading into the final period.

The Knights did get a nice game from Erica Lee and Kelsey Searing and a five rebound game from Shelby Colson who also contributed four points and four assists.

Lee hit four-of-eight shots from the field on the way to a team-high 11 points and Searing added 10 points to go with three rebounds and three assists.

Carlee Bell chipped in with six points, three steals and two rebounds while Ali Sharton added in three rebounds while hitting both of her free throw attempts. Emily Phillips tore away three steals to tie Bell for top honors and added two points.

The Knights are now 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the WIC conference and will host Greencastle on Monday before the varsity contest.
