The Center Point Planning Commission met Tuesday night to discuss the progress made on the Wenco/Road Runner Resources property.
The property, which was purchased in 1995, has been the subject of a dispute with the neighboring property owners over town and county ordinances about "junk" on the property.
Several of the commissioners visited the site recently, with owners William Kirchner and Jeff Roe, to discuss the placement of trailers along the road to obscure the view of the work yard.
The property owners submitted a revised public development plan to the commission, and a special public hearing will be held on Jan. 15, 2008, to hear comments and vote on approval.
One neighbor to the property expressed concern to the commission that trailers would "be worse than what's there now."
The Town of Center Point filed a lawsuit against the property owners earlier this year, in an effort to prompt clean up of the property. The owners have filed a counter suit.
The Brazil Times has received no information about the status of the lawsuits.
The Center Point Planning Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Its next meeting is set for 7 p.m., Jan. 15, 2008.
