Officials searching for info on robbery

Sunday, December 23, 2007

Officials are looking for information about three male suspects alleged to be involved in what they are calling a "bold robbery at gun point" Friday morning at Brazil Citgo North, 1100 N. Forest Ave.

"It was a bold time at that station to do a robbery," Brazil City Police Chief Terry Harrison said about how three apparently young men wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandannas over their faces entered the station around 6:45 a.m. "Usually at that time the place is packed with customers. Just got lucky it wasn't this particular day."

Video surveillance footage captured the three suspects as they entered the station and walked behind the counter. Only one of the suspects displayed a gun during the robbery, during which the station attendant was uninjured.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken when the suspects left with the cash drawer.

Officials are unclear whether the suspects had a vehicle in the area.

"They left on foot and no one has reported seeing a vehicle in the area," Harrison said, adding that more than likely the suspects are local individuals.

To report information about this case, contact the police department at 446-2211.
