In response to public opposition to the proposed building renovation plan, the Clay Community School Board will hold another public meeting Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, to discuss building renovations.
At the December monthly meeting, Superintendent Dan Schroeder suggested a work session to make some decisions on the project.
Schroeder said the corporation has come to a point where building repairs must either be done through a large project or be prioritized to be done with the Capital Projects Fund (CPF).
School Board President Terry Barr requested that members of each school's building committee volunteer what their findings were with their explanation of why the repairs are needed.
Barr said she would like to hear directly from the committees, as well as from members of the community.
Barr has received numerous complaints about a perceived lack of community members who participated in the committees.
She said, in an e-mail, she has requested a list of committee members from each school, as well as the dates of the county wide committee's public meetings.
Schroeder told the board at the December meeting that he would like the board to make a decision soon, whether to go through with the current plan, a revised project plan or not to pursue a building project.
Time and location of the meeting will be published when it becomes available.
