Fort Harrison Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution honored the DAR Good Citizens from five area schools and their families at the December meeting.

Each student read their essay and introduced their family members. Sharon mattison, chapter regent presented each student a $100 Scholarship check, a certificate and a DAR Good Citizen pin.

The following senior students were choses as DAR Good Citizen by their school: Josey Holscher, West Vigo High School; Alexandria Montgomery, Terre Haute South Vigo High School; Brooke Reliford, Terre Haute North Vigo High School; Whitney Ames, Clay City High School; and Mary Beth Tribble, Northview High School. Mary Beth Tribble, from Northview High School of Brazil was chosen to represent Fort Harrison Chapter DAR in the state contest.

Each entry had been previously scored by three non-DAR judges with the decision based on the student's scholastic record, community service and the written essay. The contest was conducted by Diane Gaskin, chapter chairman.
