Mrs. Virginia G. Kendall, 88, Greencastle, formerly of Reelsville, passed away Tuesday at Asbury Towers Healthcare, Greencastle.
Born April 11, 1919, in Pleasant Gardens, Ind., she was the daughter of Edward and Velma (Hassler) Chew. She was a graduate of Reelsville High School. She married Frank Kendall on Oct. 9, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1980.
Mrs. Kendall had co-owned and operated with her husband, Kendall's Garage in Manhattan, Ind., for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Reelsville United Methodist Church having served as treasurer, pianist and Sunday school teacher for several years.
Survivors include her daughter, Memory Frost and Husband Scott, Mt. Meridian, two sons, Ed Kendall and wife Martha, Manhattan, and Greg Kendall, Calif., a sister, June Wright, Fla., five grandchildren, Ginger Tyler, Laura Frost, Colin Frost, Tammy Kendall and Kristi Wilson, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her huband, parents, a sister, Eileen Phillips, and four brothers, Earl, Bill, Chester and Frank Chew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday at the Reelsville United Methodist Church with Revs. Willie Best and Phil Badger officiating. Burial will be in the Boone Hutcheson Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.
