Paula S. Eaton, 59, Carmel, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.

Born Dec. 14, 1948, in Brazil, where she was raised, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Pauline (Simmons) Eaton.

She was a graduate of Tudor Hall School for Girls and then attended the University of Texas-Austin, earning a Master's degree in architecture.

She was a principal in Eaton and Hancock Associates.

She was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Indy Northeast, where she served as the Inbound Coordinator for district 6560's youth exchange program for a number of years.

She was a host mother to many exchange students and was a group study exchange team member to Korea.

She served on the board of directors for the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial, and was a member and past president of the Carmel Arts Council.

Volunteerism was a way of life to Paula, whose kindness and willingness to give of her time, energy and talents made life better for everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth S. Eaton; brothers, Robert Eaton, John Dugan and Timothy Dugan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, John J. Dugan.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m., Wednesday, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Carmel. Graveside services will take place Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.

Visitation is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Carmel.
