Born Feb. 15, 1959, in Greencastle, he was the son of Burnard and Joyce (Sturgeon) York.

He was a self-employed contractor for several years and had been employed by Great Dane Corp. for several years.

Survivors include his father, Greencastle; daughters Heather Broadstreet and husband Terry, Greencastle, and Desiree York, Brazil; sons Byron York, Virginia, and Andy York, Brazil; brothers Gerald York and wife Kitty, Tim York and wife Kathy, both of Greencastle, and Burnard York and wife Sandra, Georgia; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Services will take place at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, 4. N. Percy Julian Dr., Greencastle. Burial will be at Little Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services Monday.
