We were reminded and encouraged again this past week in both our adult Sunday School and our worship service as to our responsibility to be spiritually growing in our personal lives and that true happiness is discovered by being a peacemaker (Matthew 5:9).

It was brought to our attention that since Satan is the ruler of this world and the father of lies (John 8:44) Christians will face resistance as they seek to bring God's message to the people around.

Pastor Gordon explained why people are resistant to the message of peace when that is what they need. This helped us to understand why seeking to love and please God right here where we live is the right thing to do but is so difficult.

The message this Sunday will be from Matthew 5:10-12. The sermon will explain that Christians can have true joy even when they are ridiculed for their faith. Could you use some encouragement in your faith? Join us this Sunday at 11 a.m.

We are continuing to encourage one another in memorizing verses of Scripture together. We are working on Psalm 34:1-4. We quote it as part of worship service so we hear it each week. All of us are being challenged to personally memorize it.

Our next teen activity is going to be Sunday Feb. 3. The teens are being invited to one of our homes to watch the Super Bowl with a devotion being given during half-time. Call for details.

God tells us to encourage the fainthearted, give help to the weary and offer hope to the hopeless. That is what we strive to do at BBFC. We know that we need each other to help us along the way. We want to minister to you. So, visit us on Sunday. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., worship is at 11 a.m. and an evening service at 6:30 p.m. Or, you can call Pastor at 442-5008 or e-mail him at pastor@brazilbible.org as he would be delighted to help you in knowing God and growing in your Christian faith.

Hello again from Eastside Christian Church. The leaders of our church are having a retreat today to plan the objectives of our church for the year. Our prayers are with them.

The pastor's worship message last Sunday was on Discipleship, which was a very important message. When Jesus was born and then crucified on the cross, He did this so that not only Jews could go to heaven, but we also have the opportunity. Of course, He left the choice to us.

Before He descended into heaven, He gave the Great Commission, and that makes our main goal as Christians to go out and teach others about Him, so that they will be saved and baptized, and then will also go out bringing others to Christ. How are you doing at this?

I don't know what the message will be this Sunday, but I am sure it will be one that you would like to hear. Please come be with us. We are a friendly church, and we also are a praying church. Therefore, if you need prayer, please feel free to let us know, and we will be glad to pray with you and for you.

Our Sunday School for all ages is at 9:30 a.m., and our worship service is at 10:30 a.m. We do offer a childrens' worship for ages 3-7 during the 10:30 service.

Our Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m., and Pastor Bill's messages are on Revelations. We offer a Bible study and prayer service on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., where we are going through the book of Hebrews.

We would love to see you at any or all of these meetings. Our church is located directly behind Hardee's on Church St.. Until next time, remember this is God's world, and we are only here for a short time.

New Hope Fellowship

Have you got a best friend? It has been said that if you have one friend in life that will be there for you, regardless of the situation, you have a true friend. It may be your spouse, your parents, a Christian brother or sister.

No matter how hard we try, we cannot live up to the high standards of a friend who never lets others down. We all fail from time to time.

We do have a true friend, who will never let us down, and that friend is Jesus. John 15:13 Great love has no one than this, than to lay down one life's for his friends.

John 15:14 Ye are my friends if you do watsoever I command you. Looking for the best friend ever?

You can't do better than the Lord himself. Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. and church services are at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday evening services are at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening services are at 7 p.m.

We are located one block north of US 40 on St. Rd. 59 in the building S.O.S. (Service on Street) has graciously allowed us to use. Please come and join us in our worship service. You will get a blessing from it. For more information on this call 812-877-9018. A SMALL CHURCH WITH A BIG VISION.

Greetings from your friends at Otter Creek Christian Church. Well, it's hard to believe that spring is just around the corner. It must be ava very long corner. The days are getting longer, so this gives us a ray of hope. Our hope for making it through each and every day is Jesus. If it wasn't for what Jesus did for us on the Cross, He was crucified, buried, and rose again to life on that first Easter morning, to give a world of lost sinners like us hope, there would be no hope.

The verse that I would like to share with you today is from Matthew 5:16, "Let you light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

What do people see when they see you walking down the street? Do they see a person that is walking hand in hand with the world, while wearing the title Christian, or do they see a person that is showing the real Jesus to a real world. Let your light shine out into a world of darkness and let people know what Jesus has done for you.

Things are really happening at Otter Creek. On Jan. 27, we are going to have a special service at 6 p.m. There will be special music among other events for the night. Please mark the date on your calender and plan to be with us.

And one other thing, Otter Creek Christian Church now has a website: http://occc.qrp.com/

Check it out, you can hear sermons from the past two Sundays and there is even a map on how to get to the church.

Our service times are Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:40 a.m. and Sunday evening 6 p.m. We also have Bible study on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The church is located at 6299 N. Crow St., Brazil. Our phone number is (812) 446-5300, and Pastor Stephen Brattain can be reached at (812) 446-4007.

Come and worship with us and experience that small church felling with a big Heart for God. If you do not have a church home, please consider Otter Creek Christian Church as your House of Worship.

The 2008 Planning Session was last Sunday. There were several new things added to our yearly plans that we hope will be well received.

The most important item is that we are changing the times for Sunday School and Worship to accommodate those who need a little more sleep on Sunday mornings.

As of Sunday, Feb. 3, Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m. and Worship will begin at 10:30 a.m.

We will be starting a new Bible Study in Feb. that will last until Easter. The actual date has not been set yet, but it will begin either Feb. 10 or Feb. 17. Make your plans for it now.

The Believers met Tuesday evening and made their plans for the new year also.

They have several things on the agenda. They welcome any woman who would enjoy a night out with the girls, participate in devotions, play around with easy crafts, and keep up on things they need to involve themselves with pertaining to the church. This group is very important in that they usually provide the background organization of most church activities.

Easter comes early this year, Mar. 23. The church is already looking toward it with joy.

Remember the time change. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and Worship is at 10:30 a.m. We hope this makes it more convenient to everyone who has not been able to come because of the early starting times.

See you at church!
