CLAY CITY -- The Clay City Eels won their second game of the week on Thursday night, dropping Eastern, 44-32.

The Eels outscored the Thunderbirds 16-5 in the final quarter hitting enough free throws to hold off any late chance at a rally.

"It was a physical basketball game," commented coach Keith Jones. "But we hit some free throws at the end."

The Eels also got 11 points from Lydia Farmer and 10 from Angie Camp.

Junior forward Britney Glass was held to just seven points, but she grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the team on the glass. Both Camp and Farmer added six apiece.

Emily Reed added nine points for the Eels and Shelby Targett contributed four in the win that improves the Eels to 11-8 on the season.
