He was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Knightsville, as the son of Everett and Jessie Dowell Kingery. Following graduation from Brazil High School he joined the U.S. Air Force and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1963. He was employed as a railroader with Conrail for 17 years and had worked at local clay plants. He was a member of American Legion Post 2, Eagles Aerie No. 274, Moose Lodge and Masonic Lodge 264. He was a drummer who was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007. He enjoyed assembling model airplanes for his large collection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Judith K. Krider, and a daughter, Sandra K. Parr, in 1984.
He is survived by one son, David Kingery and wife Susie, three daughters, Teresa Lunsford and husband Terry, Rebecca Kingery, and Vangie Sutherland and husband Bill, all of Brazil, eight grandchildren, David Kingery Jr., Heather Kingery, Seth and Linzy Lunsford, Dylan, Macy and Hannah Sutherland and Jeremy Parr, half-sister, Tammy Garbitt, N.J., special friend, Linda Frazier, Brazil and former wife, Barbara J. Kingery, Brazil and other extended family.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday with Pastor Ansil Harpold officiating.
