Committee thankful for donors
To the Editor:
In 2006 and 2007, the Old Settler's Committee solicited donations to restore the historical sign on the west side of Bowling Green.
The sign was put back up in 2007 with the addition of lights and a United States flag.
We wanted to let everyone know that the cost of the project was $7,206.15 and the donations received were $9,580.10. We will be paying the light bill and insurance from the donations and any other upkeep that is necessary.
We would like to thank the people and businesses that donated money to this project and also to those who donated time, skills and labor to the project. A list of donors will be in our 2008 program book as well as in the community building and on the grounds. Again, we are thankful and proud of the response the community had to this much needed project.
