Betty M. Savio, 85, Terre Haute, formerly of Knightsville, died at 12:06 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Union Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1922, in Knightsville, she was the daughter of Lowell and Lilly (Murphy) Rodgers.

She was a member of the Daughters of Mokanna, where she was Past Mighty Chosen One, in addition to being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 12 points lodge, Rebekka Lodge Brazil, and was president of the Resident Council at Harborside Nursing and Rehab.

She was a bookkeeper for Anderson and Associates, retiring in 2005.

She married Byron E. Savio in 1959. He survives.

Additional survivors include stepson Byron "Butch" W. Savio, four step-daughters, Doroty Hultgren and husband Mark, Carol Mowbray and husband Dale, Sharon Brand and husband Ken, and Denise Crawford, brothers, Clifford Rodgers and Ronald Rodgers and wife Marlene, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Rodgers and sister Arlene Treash.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, Terre Haute, with Rev. Linda Peters officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home and a funeral service will be provided by the Daughters of Mokanna Funeral Service at 7 p.m., Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Savio's memory.
