Duke Energy offers winter weather tips

Thursday, January 31, 2008

Winter weather conditions, with the potential to cause electric service interruptions, have been forecast for portions of Indiana and the Duke Energy service area.

Duke Energy crews and support personnel are prepared to restore electric service as quickly and safely as possible. In the meantime, customers should prepare as well.

Have flashlights, batteries and other essential items on hand.

Duke Energy Medical Alert customers or special needs customers need to ensure they have identified an alternate location should an extended outage occur.

Stay away from fallen or damaged lines and never touch lines, limbs or trees that have fallen on or near power lines.

If a home or business experiences an electric service interruption, the quickest way for Indiana Duke Energy customers to report outages is by calling 1-800-343-3525.

Outages reported on these lines are routed automatically to those responsible for responding to them.
