North Clay girls split basketball games

The seventh grade North Clay girls' basketball team posted a Monday victory over Chauncey Rose, 44-34.

The Knights got a team-high 10 points from Taylor Carter in the victory while Brylie Riddell contributed nine in a balanced offensive effort. North Clay's Sierra Girton chipped in with eight and Kaylee Mason scored six.

Cassie Weddle had five points for the North Clay Knights with teammate, Courtney Plummer scoring four and Ashley Hughes had two points in the victory.

The 'B' team also picked up a victory as Alexis Bender led the team with eight points while Courtney Plummer, Samantha Gibbons and Brandi Sanders had four apiece. Lisa Blackburn and Nicole Linton each had two points.

The seventh grade basketball team will host South Putnam on Monday beginning at 6 p.m.

Sixth-grade

The sixth grade Knights came out on the short end of a 20-16 decision to Honey Creek despite an eight-point effort from Lindsey Potter.

Halie Sciotto scored four points while Leanna Knight and Natasha Barrett both had two points.

The 'B' team pitched a shut out, winning 30-0.

Emily Pollard scored eight points in the victory for the Knights.

Karlie Atkinson, Megan Mason and Jessica Ninesling each had four points.

MaKenzie Brush, Grace Sutherland, Libby Deckard, Hunter Bowling and Danielle Bowling each had two points.

The Knights will host South Vermillion on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
