Parke County Incorporated to host the 45th Annual Parke County Maple Syrup Fair at 4-H fairgrounds.
For two weekends, the Parke County Incorporated will host the Maple Syrup Fair on Feb. 23-24 and March 1-2. The fairgrounds are located one mile north of Rockville, Indiana on U.S. 41. Parke County Maple Syrup Producers will begin tapping the trees for sugar water. The sugar water is used for making maple syrup.
Citizens will be able to take part in pancake flipping and other activities.
Pancakes, sausage and syrup are served daily from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Maple syrup will be made from various producers by using primitive means and state of the art equipment. Syrup, candy and cookies along with other products will be available.
At the 4-H building the Butcher Shop will offer smoked ham, bacon, sausage and cheese. Souvenirs, crafts, hand made dolls, local art and vendors will be available for shopping at the Commercial building behind the 4-H building.
Fair admission is $5 for adults and children under 10 is $3.
The 2008 Maple Fair production held at the Rockville Historic Ritz Theater will be the play "Fools" a comedy by Neil Simon. The play starts each night at 8 p.m. on Feb. 23-24 and March 1-2. Admission is $6 a person and doors open an hour before curtain time.
