Poll indicates Valentine's Day should be fufilling

More than 200 readers responded to The Brazil Times' latest online poll and their significant others are sure to be in for a good Valentine's Day.

The poll, "What do you plan on doing for Valentine's Day?" generated responses from 212 readers.

Voters had six responses to choose from, including:

* Going out for dinner with my sweetie,

* Watching a movie with my sweetie,

* Spending the evening at home with my sweetie,

* Working,

* Nothing. I don't like Valentine's Day, and

* Other.

Of the 212 voters, 69 (32.5 percent) said they planned on spending the evening at home with their significant other.

The second-most voted for was going out for dinner, as 44 readers (20.8 percent) said they would be doing that.

A total of 39 respondents (18.4 percent) said they planned on doing nothing as they didn't like Valentine's Day, while 29 voters (13.7 percent) said they planned on doing something else rather than the five responses offered.

A total of 28 respondents (13.2 percent) said they planned on working for Valentine's Day while three voters (1.4 percent) said they planned on watching a movie.

Eight readers also commented regarding the poll.

One reader stated, "I love my husband so much," while another reader said, "Just spending time with my hubby and enjoying the evening."

Another reader said, "Spend time with my husband and my son, who is home from Methodist (Hospital)," while another reader said, "With the economy the way it is, it is too expensive to go out."

The current Times poll is, "Who do you think will win the presidency?" Answered offered include:

* Hillary Rodham Clinton,

* John McCain,

* Barack Obama, or

* I don't care.
