WEST LAFAYETTE -- Purdue freshman Robbie Hummel has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week.
He averaged 19 points and five rebounds in No. 24 Purdue's two victories last week.
The Valparaiso native's 21 points against No. 8 Wisconsin led the Boilermakers to victory. Against Penn State, Hummel scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, while adding two assists and a block.
Hummel is the third Purdue player to earn Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season, joining Keaton Grant and E'Twaun Moore.
The Boilermakers are 19-5 overall and are atop the Big Ten standings at 10-1. Purdue hosts Michigan State on Tuesday.
