He was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Clay County, to William Henry Clark and Melda (Whited) Clark.
Bill worked for 33 years at Amax Coal Company. He began Clark's Lawn and Garden in the early 1970s.
He worked with his son Robert until fully retiring in 2000.
He served in the United States Army from 1943-46.
He was a member of the Community Missionary Church.
He married Thelma L. Froderman on June 19, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma L. Froderman Clark on Nov. 14, 2006, siblings Nell Baysinger and Francis Wilson.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Clark and wife Pam, and Ed Clark, grandchildren, Joshua Clark and wife Stacey, Jason Clark, Shaun Clark and Shannon Clark; and great-grandchild Caitlin Fairbanks.
Services will take place at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, at French Funeral Home with Pastors Ed Mishler and Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home.
