Letter to the Editor

Responding to food pantry comments

Monday, February 18, 2008

To the Editor:

I would like to respond to the women who wrote letters about the pantry.

Those ladies who work there were discredited unnecessarily.

There are signs posted that say how much a person take, and the volunteers work hard to keep things neat.

They fold the clothes so neatly, so people who need them can go through them orderly, and it is a shame that it gets so messy.

They have the responsibility to watch what gets taken, and sometimes people don't understand what goes into keeping it orderly.

If you just comprehend those women are volunteers, and I've volunteered down there before. They work very hard.

I don't think it was right to complain, since they know how much can be taken.

I hope the people at the pantry know that not everyone complains about their services.

The pantry could stop being open, and where would that leave the people who need it?
