INDIANAPOLIS -- Northview senior wrestler Beau Pingleton concluded a standout career for the Knights in Saturday's IHSAA State Finals with eighth-place.

Pingleton advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Pendleton Heights' Cory Wenzara via fall in 3:01 Friday evening.

On Saturday however, Pingleton opened with a match against Mishawaka's Steven Sandefer.

In that match, Sandefer was able to post a 7-1 victory over Pingleton and would go on to become the state championship at 140 pounds later that evening. Sandefer finished the season with a 43-2 mark after defeating Chris Mascaro of Carmel, 8-2, in the championship bout.

The loss sent Pingleton into a match-up with Hobar's Jonny Dillon where he fell by an identical 7-1 score before losing a narrow 5-2 decision to Valparaiso's Alex Miller in the seventh-place match.

Pingleton capped his senior year with an outstanding 41-8 mark overall.
