Clara Elizabeth Elliott Ringo, 98, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Brazil, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in Sarasota, Florida.

She was born March 16, 1909, in Clinton, as the daughter of Homer Virgil and Elizabeth Swinehart Elliott.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1926 and then attended Brown's Business College.

She married James Stanley Ringo of Brazil, Indiana September 24, 1938. She retired from Ringo Lumber Mills in 1983 as their office manager. She was a member of Brazil Eastern Star No. 80 and the First United Methodist Church of Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stanley Ringo Nov. 6, 1961; one sister, Eleanor Elliott and one brother, Gordon Elliott.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Kay Ringo King and husband Henry L. King with whom she made her home in 1983 in Barrington, Ill., and in 2002 in Bradenton, Fla.

Graveside funeral services arranged by Moore Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Clearview Cemetery, with Rev. Tony Alstott officiating.
