Born Dec. 18, 1922, in Owen County, she was the daughter of Merle and Agnes (Dyer) Horn.
She married Herman Haviland on Oct. 1, 1946. He preceded her in death. The lived in Rockford, Ill., for several years prior to returning to the Brazil area.
Juanita worked as a waitress and then as a security guard for Mobile Oil. Most of her life, however, she spent raising her family. Juanita especially enjoyed flower gardening and her two Pomeranian dogs, Pearl and Ginger.
She also collected special edition Bradford Exchange Porcelain Plates and loved to receive pictures and letters from her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Agnes Dyer Horn, husband Herman Haviland, siblings Ray Glen Horn, Betty Steuerwald, Beverly Horn and granddaughter Jennifer Haviland.
She is survived by her children, Judith A. Pugh and husband Gerald, Center Point, son Jack Haviland and wife Alma, Crown Point, Roger Haviland and wife Rita, Brazil, Ricky Haviland, Brazil, and Karen Haviland, Brazil, and extended family including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At Juanita's request, cremation services are scheduled and memorial services will take place at a future date.
French Funeral Home has been entrusted in handling arrangements.
