Brazil resident, Anna Hughes, 12, recently completed her 2007 horse show season.
Twelve-year-old Anna Hughes, along with her mounts "Murphy's Law," also known as Freckles, and "Tiramisu," AKA Grommet, had a very successful 2007 horse show season.

Hughes is a member of the Indiana Hunter Jumper Association, where she has earned recognition as the state's Reserve Champion in the Beginner Rider Junior Division and the Short Stirrup Equitation Division for the 2007 Indiana Show Circuit.

She also placed third in the state in both the Short Stirrup Hunter and the Pleasure Pony Divisions. A banquet to honor all the winners took place Jan. 12, at the Oak Hill Mansion in Carmel.

She also received two Reserve Champion placings in the same divisions for the Foxtron Farm 2007 Show Circuit in Romney, Ind. A special Italian dinner took place for the winners Nov. 2.

In addition to her IHJA placings, Hughes received a second last summer at the Indiana State Fair in the Working Hunter over Fences class. She also did well at the 4-H county level, receiving a first in Equitation and four firsts in over fences classes as well as a second and a third placing in English pony and horse classes.

Anna is the daughter of Alan and Beth Hughes, Brazil, and is a member of the Hunters Row show team. She has been riding for two-and-a-hald years. Audrey Mager is her instructor/trainer.
