Larry Wayne Hughbanks, 65, Coleman, Texas, former long-time resident of Brazil, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Brownwood, Texas.
He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Brazil, the son of the late O'Dell and Lois Kabler Hughbanks. Larry married Margaret Killion, in Brazil, Dec. 24, 1960. He served his country in the United States Army for 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam. He was with the military police for 17 years and retired in 1980 from Fort Hood, Texas. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and had lived in Coleman since July of 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hughbanks, Coleman, Texas, daughter Karen Kronk and husband Dale, St. Louis, Mo., sons Anthony Hughbanks, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Bruce Hughbanks, Copperas Cove, Texas, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister Janet Gore, Indianapolis.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Killeen Memorial Park, Killeen, Texas, with Reverend Derek Triggs officiating. Heartland Funeral Home of Early, Texas is in charge of services.
