Kathleen Tirey, 80, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin.
She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Brazil.
Born Sept. 23, 1927, in Greene County, Ky., she was the daughter of Jeptha and Emily (Tillery) Thompson.
She married William Edward Tirey on June 14, 1944. He lovingly survives.
She attended George Washington High School. She was a homemaker and was employed for 15 years at Adamson Dry Cleaning in Brazil.
Kathleen was a member of Brazil Christian Church, was a Girl Scout Ledaer and was a member of the Franklin Chapter, Order of Eastern Star No. 439. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ed. She enjoyed volunteering at the Indiana Masonic Home in the gift shop, pushing wheelchairs, assisting with crafts and helping on bus trips.
Other survivors include son Kenneth Edward Tirey and wife Vicki, Brownsburg, daughter Judith Ann Coffing and husband Dale, Macy, Ind., six grandchildren, Angela (Tirey) Cucullo, Cleveland, Matthew Tirey, Coatesville, Brent Coffing, Rochester, Sean Garrison, Macy, Amy Freeman, Macy, and Chad Garrison, Rochester, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 13, at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (United States 31 North), Franklin, with Revs. Charles Stanley and Cleon Wright officiating. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., at Clearview Cemetery, Brazil.
