Jim Bertoli, United Way executive director, said the United Way has been adding special events to increase public awareness and to keep administrative costs down. He said the addition of Wozny would help to increase the success of those events.
"Jessica brings an enthusiasm and energy to our United Way that will help make our special events that much more special," Bertoli said.
Wonzy will be responsible for all special events activities and fund raising campaign for the United Way. She will also be the lead staff member of the new web-based Volunteer Solutions program that will be launched in the future.
Wonzy has a B.S. in Public Relations from Indiana State University, with minors in marketing and journalism. She took her position on March 5.
Wonzy said she is ready to get involved with special events and meet people.
"I am very excited to join such a dynamic organization," she said. "I really look forward to working with all of the volunteers, corporate sponsors and the many people involved with the United Way."
The United Way's mission is to help increase community closeness and provide programs which address the basic needs such as, family development, disabilities, family stability, health, senior, youth recreation and development, youth social skills and development.
