"It can be very difficult for families to deal with a situation involving a coroner, which is a major part of the coroner's job," Hill, a Republican, said. "I want to be that special kind of person and be able to provide great service to the citizens of Clay County."
Employed at AET Films, Terre Haute, Hill is currently the president of the Clay County Sheriff's Posse, the secretary/treasurer of the Clay County Search and Rescue and is an active first responder while preparing to take state qualifications as an EMT.
Understanding medical training is an asset for the coroner's office, Hill, 49, said she has also taken classes at the Indiana State University School of Nursing.
"Families, and many times authorities and the citizens of this county, need answers from the coroner's office," Hill said. "A coroner has to be able to provide those answers in a timely and sensitive manner for everyone involved. I want to do that for Clay County."
