STAUNTON FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister. Continuing the sermon series preparing us for Easter, Doug's topic will be "What is Your Response to Jesus?" Children's Church, Wee Worship and extended nursery are at 10:30 in the Educational building. If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211. The van is wheelchair equipped.
Sunday evening service, Praise Band, and Puppet Ministry meet at 6 p.m.
Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meets at 7 p.m. If you wish to go to Golden Corral for lunch on Monday, please be at the church by 11 a.m. We will be able to use the church van for this trip.
On March 30, we will begin a six-week study focused on John 3:16. We will be studying in small groups, and the Sunday morning sermons will co-ordinate with the lessons. Please join us each Sunday morning through May 4 for these messages.
STAUNTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Next Thursday, March 20, we will observe Maundy Thursday with a special service of Holy Communion at the church at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday morning, March 23, the day will begin with a Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m., followed by a breakfast prepared by the men of the church. Then, an Easter egg hunt for the children will start at 9 a.m., with the morning activities coming to a close with Church service at 10 a.m.
Everyone is invited to attend all of these special events, as we celebrate the very special Holy Week of our faith.
We again want to thank everyone who has donated to the roof fund, and we continue to need contributions to help pay for this much-needed improvement to the church building. If you would like to donate, please contact Janet Young at 448-3210.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement the last two Wednesday afternoons of each month from 3-5 p.m. The next Food Pantry day will be next Wednesday. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We truly appreciate the support of many churches, civic organizations, and individuals in helping to make this needed outreach a success. A container is located in the Staunton Town Office for anyone who would like to contribute non-perishable food items.
Please remember to keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone.
