Serving the community and working with people are what Councilmen Warren E. Stevenson enjoys and hopes to continue by running for County Council, at-Large.

Stevenson, 63, has been a resident of Clay County all his life.

He has been on the county council since May 2002.

He served as council president from 2004-05 and is a retired state police officer.

Stevenson said the council works well together and are friends.

The council has been trying to get things done.

He believes their friendships help create an atmosphere that works smoothly.

"The council does a good job on a whole," Stevenson said.

"We set the budget and work within it."

Stevenson is on the Board of Directors for Farm Bureau.

He is a farmer and enjoys farming. He lives in Lewis Township.

He said he is looking forward to getting started and helping the community.

"I enjoy it," he said.

Stevenson is the only Republican running against Democrats Michael D. McCullough, Edward A. Nevins and Brian L. Wyndham.
